About the position:  The Lead Advisor is an integral component of Roach McIntyre & Associates, as they will work directly with our Managing Advisors to elevate multi-generational client relationships, cultivate active client relationships, and provide direct financial planning advice in line with our core values and planning philosophy.

Once acclimated to the Roach McIntyre & Associates process, the development path for the Lead Advisor includes transition into a full-time Financial Advisor role. This is critical to the Lead Advisor’s career track, as they become solely responsible for managing up to 100 active advisory relationships under the Roach McIntyre & Associates umbrella.

What to expect in the role:

  • Manage 50-75 (or more) active client relationships
  • Assess current client base to determine planning needs, candidates to elevate to Managing Advisors, and/or clients to refer to the Associate Advisors for service relationships
  • Prepare/present financial plans & recommendations for existing and new clients
  • Drive the planning process discussions during prospect and client meetings
  • Assist analysts, service advisors, and Managing Advisors with client communication
  • Cross-training within all facets of Roach McIntyre & Associates operations is required – from administration to plan implementation and servicing
  • Self-sourced business development is not required; however, it is a welcome addition

Ideal Experience:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree, preferably in business, finance, and/or planning
  • At least 3-5 years of active experience in the financial services and/or wealth management industry
  • Strong background in financial planning, with substantial knowledge in investment, tax, and estate planning
  • Current Ohio Insurance License; not required
  • Current FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 licenses; not required, but strongly preferred
  • Candidate for or successful completion of CFP® curriculum through an accredited college program or an educational organization dedicated to preparing individuals for certification (e.g., Kaplan); not required, but strongly preferred

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with financial planning software (e.g., NaviPlan, yCharts, Morningstar, etc.)
  • Familiarity with life, disability, and long-term care insurance rules, terminology, and illustrations
  • A doughnut shop on your way to the office – the team likes treats
