The Associate Financial Planner must be a team player who is passionate about helping clients. This CFP® certificate holder will support existing Affiance Financial clients, as well as embark on a career path that incentivizes building his or her own book of business. The Associate Financial Planner will work with the advisor team to analyze, research, propose, and implement financial solutions for clients and prospective clients. This person must have a positive attitude and be able to problem solve collaboratively. The Associate Financial Planner reports to the Director of Marketing and Business Development.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare for meetings with the ability to anticipate colleague and client needs
  • Work with the advisor team to analyze, research, propose, and implement financial solutions for clients and prospective clients
  • Attend client meetings, take notes of the meeting, and develop a written Plan of Action
  • Deliver advice to, and correspond with, clients in a professional and compliant manner on the phone, in person, and via email
  • Continuously monitor clients’ financial situations from both detailed and big picture perspectives
  • Articulate Affiance Financial’s story, the Affiance Advantage, our Investment policies, as well as your personal value proposition

Qualifications

  • Passion for making lives better through financial planning
  • Desire to serve clients as a fiduciary
  • Ability to work well within a team and problem solve collaboratively with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of the securities industry, financial planning, and investment management
  • Financial planning software competency; preferably with both Money Guide Pro® and eMoney
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn in-house programs and tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional and knowledgeable demeanor, including being reliable and following-through on commitments
  • Ability to maintain full compliance with the Federal Securities Laws and Affiance’s internal policies and procedures

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years experience in Financial Services preferred
  • CFP® certificate preferred, or eligible to sit for the CFP® exam
  • FINRA and insurance licenses helpful, but not required

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, reach and use hands in an articulate manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position does not require an individual to regularly lift items over 25 lbs.
