Immediate, full-time position.  Asset Preservation Strategies in San Diego, California, an established and growing Financial Advisory firm, is now accepting applications for a hard-working and easygoing individual to join our team. You will be working with a successful, logical, process-minded, and collaborative small team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years+ of experience in the financial services industry
  • Valid professional licenses – Series 7 required; Series 65/66 preferred
  • CFP not required, but a significant advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Quick learner of new technologies.  Knowledge of Morningstar, Advizr, Orion, and Zoho CRM is a plus
  • Previous experience giving group presentations is a plus

SCHEDULE:

  • Typically, Monday-Friday, 9:00–5:00.  Working both from home and our office in San Diego, CA
  • Some evenings/weekends at your discretion to meet business goals and client availability

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary negotiable based on the amount of AUM transferred.

ABOUT THE JOB:

Internal Collaboration & Administrative:

  • Collaborate with coworkers on additional ways to protect and grow clients' assets
  • Work collaboratively with administrative and other staff for adequate set-up and follow-up of events
  • Assign, delegate, and supervise work passed to administrative support staff
  • Meet sales and marketing goals by maintaining a marketing and sales tracker spreadsheet for weekly submission
  • Manage and present live speaking events for educating the public, generating interest
  • Understand, explain, and sell our specific investment philosophy to new and existing clients
  • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan to meet client acquisition goals
  • Learn and implement a client referral program
  • Represent firm at corporate and other business functions
  • Use network and COI marketing to drive client acquisition

Business Development / Sales:

  • Work with clients to discover needs and write appropriate financial plans, investments, insurance
  • Develop and follow a communication plan to build and maintain strong relationships and retain existing clients
  • Quickly and easily establish rapport with clients and prospective clients
  • Conduct and/or participate in client meetings to present recommendations
  • Place trades upon request

Technical Analysis:

  • Create financial plans and other client handouts
  • Perform case analyses and develop recommendations
  • Use our resources to create comprehensive financial plans including coordination of asset management, estate planning, and risk management
  • Evaluate client risk tolerance and time horizon
  • Create proposals, illustrations, and hypotheticals

Continuous Learning:

  • Learn and buy-in to our philosophy of planning and investing, stay involved in ongoing training
  • Continuous learning on market trends and financial regulations
  • Learn new strategies and be willing to get additional designations to stand out from other firms
