Job Details

As an Associate Financial Advisor, you will:

Specialize in a particular area based on the needs of the Financial Advisory Team. A corresponding business title will be utilized as outlined below.

  • In partnership with the Financial Advisory Team, provide sophisticated financial solutions to individuals and families, guide client decision making as they deploy assets among a variety of financial instruments, and develop long-term financial advisory relationships.

  • Review, research and analyze data to create customized, annual financial plans for clients. Take the planning results and identify the best investment solutions to implement the plan in partnership with the Financial Advisory Team.

  • Deliver the financial plan to clients in partnership with the Financial Advisory Team.

  • Connect with next generation clients through planning.

  • Provide or lead financial education, such as long-term planning, social security/Medicare, tax return reviews utilizing our team of experts.

  • Document, follow up, and support the closing of opportunities identified from the financial planning process.

  • Creates various levels of financial plans ranging from basic analysis to complex comprehensive plans using the MoneyGuidePro financial planning software. Performs other duties and special projects as necessary.

  • Specific designation required: CFP or CPWA within 12 months of assuming the role.

  • In partnership with the Financial Advisory Team, engage the prospect/current client, frame the discussion, and convey the team mission to better position the Financial Advisor/Team for additional business opportunities. May source and obtain new assets.

  • Analyze clients’ financial circumstances, including investment portfolios, assets, and liabilities.

  • Professional Liability Insurance required.

What we look for:

  • Must have an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.

  • Capability to pursue and achieve a specialized professional designation (i.e., CFP, CPWA, CIMA, CFA, JD, etc.) within 12 months of assuming the role is preferred.

  • SIE, 7, 66 required and other licenses, as appropriate.

  • Minimum of three years of financial planning and/or investment experience in a client facing role.

  • Excellent presentation skills, very strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Proven self-starter, highly motivated, with the ability to work independently.

  • Experience with financial planning software (MoneyGuidePro, Envision, eMoney, etc.)

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
