Strategic Planning Associates (SPA) has an immediate need for a Financial Planner.  In this role, the individual will interpret and analyze financial data to determine financial strategies being used, use

informational knowledge and understanding of legal documents and provide financial solutions in accordance to a client’s planning objectives, including risk management, wealth accumulation strategies, retirement income distribution, and legal/estate planning.

Critical skills:

  • Demonstrable extensive knowledge of the financial planning process, as shown by the CFP®, CFA® and/or ChFC® certifications
  • Working knowledge of investment strategies including asset allocation and capital assumptions, and a variety of risk products including life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care, and annuities
  • Ability to use a financial calculator (e.g. HP 10b+ or HP12c), particularly time value of money
  • Business writing
  • Ability to work with a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with time constraints, prioritize tasks, gather information from a variety of technological sources, deliver projects in a timely fashion, delegate work when/where appropriate, be delegated work when/where appropriate
  • Technological skills:
    • Use of Microsoft CRM, Salesforce, or similar client relationship manager/database
    • Excel – formatting cells, sums (across various cells and multiple sheets), ability to manipulate print spaces and visual spaces to effectively impart numerical data
    • Ability to learn and use multiple proprietary programs for the purpose of investment management, developing financial plans, generating insurance illustrations, and creating planning deliverables
  • Must hold a CFP and a Series 7
  • Degree with a concentration in Economics or Finance

 

Preferable skills:

  • Experience using planning software e.g Advicent (Naviplan), MoneyGuidePro, eMoney Advisor
  • Understanding of Qualitate™ system or similar planning process
  • Extensive knowledge of life insurance products, disability insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuities and experience generating illustrations using software
