Segall Bryant & Hamill (SBH) seeks a Paraplanner to join our team. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical, organizational, and planning capabilities who is detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. As this position interacts with multiple areas of the SBH organization, it is essential that the ideal candidate is a team player, collaborative, and is able to work with and through others. This position reports to the Manager, Financial Planning.
General Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact for planning clients regarding questions, requests, or updates.
- Gather, confirm, and maintain client data for detailed financial planning conversations and plan deliveries
- Work with Manager and Portfolio Managers to optimize the process and implementation of all planning activities and recommended steps
- Broad based support of WM marketing and business development efforts
- Stay abreast of financial planning topics by regular reading of the Journal for Financial planning and other relevant information
Qualifications:
- 0 to 3 years experience within a financial services firm, university program, and/or a financial planning environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- CFP certified or willingness to work toward a CFP certification
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to enter data efficiently and effectively into financial planning software Money Guide Pro
- Client Relationship Management (CRM) system experience such as Salesforce
- Research software experience a plus such as FactSet
- Accounting and Trade software experience a plus such as Advent APX and Moxy
- A strong work ethic, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and high integrity are a must
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Experience working with client relationships
- Must be able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
- Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion with respect to all client and firm information
- Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow
