Requirements:

  • BA or BS in Business, Finance, Economics, or similar field; completion of registered paraplanner program a plus
  • Prior enrollment or willingness to enroll in CFA® or CFP® certification program
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations
  • Securities and/or Insurance experience
  • Understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
  • Knowledge of mutual funds, EFT, stock, bonds, insurance, and annuity products
  • Professional attitude and presence are essential
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A conscientious nature and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Principal Responsibilities:

 

The Financial Analyst assists the Chief Investment Officer and Advisors with portfolio review, construction, and maintenance.

  • Provide technical support to the Advisors, including:
    • Gathering client data
    • Assisting with asset allocation decisions, portfolio construction, and rebalancing strategies
    • Organizing and maintaining financial documents and data:
      • Review statements provided by clients
      • Review client statements from National Financial Services (NFS) and Commonwealth (PPS) as applicable
      • Input updated values into appropriate planning software
    • Conduct monthly/quarterly/ad hoc client reporting
    • Identify problem areas and summarize for CIO
  • Serve on firm’s Investment Committee, supporting the CIO:
    • Conduct research on investments
    • Stay current on economic and market trends through trade journals, books, conferences, etc., and make recommendations to the CIO accordingly
    • Maintain mutual fund, EFT, Stock, and VA recommended lists
    • Maintain model portfolios and performance (e.g., through Morningstar®)
    • Use broker/dealer forms and information from COMMunity Link®
    • Maintain up-to-date information on model portfolios performance (e.g., through Morningstar®)
  • Serve as a liaison between company and sponsors, such as mutual fund or research companies
  • Rebalance client portfolios based on advisor’s criteria using appropriate tools (e.g., Model Management)
  • Respond to client questions and concerns
  • Contribute to the team and Advisors by ensuring key employees are aware of the status of client work


Required knowledge/skills/competencies

  • Three-plus years’ experience in financial services; experience working with NFS processes and forms a plus
  • Knowledge of third-party asset management systems, including how they work, benefits, and drawbacks
  • Exposure to estate planning issues
  • Proficiency with other computer programs, including, Riskalyze, Morningstar® Advisor WorkstationSM, Argus, Value Line, Broadridge Forefield Advisor Wealthscape


Salary and Benefits

 

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience.  We offer a full benefits package including health and dental insurance, group disability insurance, paid time off, and a hybrid work schedule.
