Job Details
Position Overview:
The primary function of the Financial Planner is to serve as the main contact for customer relationship management. TPG takes pride in high quality service and the Financial Planner will be responsible for managing existing client relationships and needs regarding financial planning, case design, asset allocation, and investment reviews. This position requires a strong understanding of the financial services industry and is critical in handling day-to-day client management as well as providing support to the firm’s Senior Financial Planners. Salary is commensurate with experience, competitive benefits and room for advancement.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Gain a deep understanding of our clients’ unique needs and aspirations to confidently advise them on their personal goals by developing and implementing a financial plan
- Discuss and explain investment strategies, asset allocation, investment performance, retirement and other projections with our clients
- Build and deepen your knowledge and skillset by maintaining an in-depth understanding of financial markets and planning solutions
- Provide clients with operational/coaching support for specific financial-related questions
- Active engagement in marketing efforts on behalf of the firm (not required to build own book of business)
- Commitment to TPG’s team, ensemble approach and client-centric culture
- Continue to develop your craft of financial planning
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, finance, accounting, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the financial services industry
- In-depth knowledge of financial planning concepts and financial markets
- Series 7 preferred, Series 63 and 65, or 66 preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Highest degree of integrity and ethics
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player with strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to manage and oversee staff
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Ideal Qualifications:
- CFP or CPA strongly preferred (or ability to obtain or be on the CFP track)
