Job Title:  Financial Planner/Service Advisor

Objectives: The primary objective of the Financial Planner/Service Advisor is to perform all duties in the best interest of the firm’s clients, to provide qualified and highly skilled financial planning services in alignment with best practices while complying with all policies and procedures, applicable federal and state regulations, and regulations of our broker-dealer.   The service advisor will be responsible for managing existing client relationships, formulating and implementing financial plans and advice, and onboarding new clients. A non-compete & non-solicitation agreement will be required upon hire. Potential growth path to Lead Advisor, then to a Partner

Major Accountabilities Include:

  • Participate in client meetings independently and/or in collaboration with the Principal Advisor. Establish working relationship with clients during data gathering and planning process. Follow up with clients in an efficient, timely manner.
  • Preparing for client meetings by gathering required information from clients, consolidating information into excel & client's financial plan, preparing forms, and following up when needed.
  • Prepare client financial plans that are thorough, accurate, and easy for clients to understand. Elements of the financial plan should be consistent with CFP® board definitions/standards.
  • Provide support to client inquiries and delegate implementation duties to the Support advisor or Principal advisor as required.
  • Proactively communicate with the Principal Advisor regarding work in progress and prospective pipeline, and assist them with client communication, agendas, summary letters, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development and growth. 
  • Be able and willing to assist with a variety of general office duties, which may include: opening and closing the office, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, answering incoming phone calls, scanning documents, maintaining a clean and welcoming office space, Notary Public, etc.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education/Designations/Licensing:
    • At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required
    • CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) Designation in good standing.
    • FINRA Serries 7; Serries 63 and 65, or 66
  • Experience: 5 years experience preferred
  • Personal Qualities
    • Highest standard of ethics is a must (background check is required)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • The ability to handle multiple priorities and demonstrates good judgement in resolving complex problems
    • Highly organized and detailed team player with a positive attitude
    • Is self-motivated and takes ownership over his/her tasks
    • Excellent understanding of financial planning concepts.
  • Computer Skills
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows 11
    • We utilize MoneyGuide Pro, Morningstar, & Salesforce. Knowledge and experience in these programs is a plus but not required for hire.

Broker-Dealer Affiliation: Affiliation with SagePoint Financial is required. They will do a background and credit check during the affiliation process, which follows FINRA’s regulations and registration. If you have a bankruptcy, credit issues, a felony, pending litigation, U-4 or U-5 disclosures or any other FINRA or Broker/Dealer issues, especially client related, you must disclose those during the interview.
