Our firm is seeking to hire an energetic, positive, professional person to work with our close-knit group. A great candidate will be able to coordinate with others in the Planning Department, self-manage the calendar to deliver plans on time, research various topics, interact positively and professionally with clients, and enjoy detailed work. 

Job responsibilities include primarily: 

  • Gather and organize data 
  • Take data and interpret it in light of a client’s larger financial picture  
  • Prepare files for initial client appointments 
  • Draft and complete financial plans to meet established deadlines 
  • Research and develop expertise in financial planning strategies 
  • Interact with clients via phone, email, or in-person and promote strong relationships 
  • Eventually participate professionally in client meetings with the financial planner, taking notes for the meeting and holding responsibility for the assigning and the completion of tasks 
  • Successfully and completely coordinate actions with other employees and clients 
  • Develop and assist with projects 

Ideal candidate will have: 

  • Proficiency in the use of technology, including Office Suite and financial planning software 
  • Close attention to detail and commitment to error-free work 
  • A self-starter with excellent follow-through 
  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to enjoy working independently as well as with others 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal discreetly with highly confidential information 
  • A good command of the English language in writing and in speaking 
  • Interest in people, building relationships, and teamwork  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and to help in any capacity 
  • Affability, optimism, and trustworthiness 
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines on time, multi-task, and self-manage 
  • Professional dress and demeanor 

Required knowledge/skills/competencies: 

  • BA or BS degree 
  • More than two years’ experience in financial planning/investment firm required 
  • CFP designation or working towards CFP designation, strongly desirable and eventually required 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 a plus 
  • CRM software knowledge a plus
