Position Overview: The Financial Advisor Resident (Resident) is a full-time, three-year position.
The purpose of the Financial Advisor Residency Program is to prepare Residents to be client facing
financial advisors. A variety of experiences in investment management, comprehensive
wealth management, and operations will teach Residents about all aspects of managing client
relationships. In the first year, this role will work with the Client Service Operations and Investment
Management teams daily, learning how to execute all aspects of client service and investment
management. The Resident will also attend client and prospect meetings and begin to learn how
to deliver comprehensive financial advice. They will also assist in preparing proposals for
prospects and onboarding new clients. After the Resident has achieved and executes knowledge
of these financial planning experiences, the Resident will then spend time preparing for and taking
the CFP exam.

In year two, the Resident will focus on learning how to deliver comprehensive wealth management
service and advice. The Resident will work with associate advisors to prepare for and follow up
on client and prospect meetings. The Resident will work on meeting preparation and follow up,
client data management, portfolio management, financial plan creation, estate plan review, and
tax planning. In year three, the Resident will focus on managing all aspects of assigned client
relationships alongside lead and associate advisors. Professional development will also be a
focus in the third year. The Resident will have an opportunity to participate in national conferences
and events. By the end of the program, the Resident will know the ins and outs of comprehensive
wealth management and how to successfully manage client relationships.
