We have a unique opportunity for a professional, creative, like-minded Associate Advisor to play an integral role in our growing, entrepreneurial firm. As an Associate Advisor you will collaborate with the advisor team to deliver comprehensive financial planning and fee only investment management to our clients. You will contribute to the success of the firm by enhancing and deepening relationships with clients by fostering trust and satisfaction. This is a professional position with a career track, mentorship, and the potential future opportunity to buy equity ownership. 

Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Investment Management 

  • Attend client meetings in a technical, supporting and learning role
  • Assist in gathering and organizing client data necessary to develop a financial plan
  • Prepare a comprehensive financial plan including retirement, insurance, and tax planning
  • Perform analysis of client information to produce results sought by advisors
  • Prepare and execute trading with supervisor approval
  • Upon request, conduct special and routine investment/portfolio or planning research projects
  • Coordinate quarterly investment performance reporting including review and client notification
  • Manage data integrity in O’Brien’s software stack
  • Compose and generate correspondence and client documents, including spreadsheets and reports
  • Complete ongoing education in all financial planning and investment areas

Client Service

  • Prepare for client meetings and assist with follow-up implementation items
  • Assist clients with inquiries/requests or re-direct as appropriate
  • Establish, service, monitor and maintain client investment accounts (this includes contributions/distributions, beneficiary designations, and other changes)
  • Setup and maintain online access for clients 
  • Utilize CRM database to track all workflow and client information

Client Management

  • Serve as a primary advisor for some assigned clients
  • Contribute to firm growth through expanding existing relationships, community visibility and generating referrals 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Four‐year undergraduate degree and 4+ years of experience working in wealth management 
  • A desire to put clients first by offering investment advice that is truly in the client’s best interest
  • Insatiable curiosity and a high level of interest in and knowledge of key financial, investment and risk management concepts
  • CFP® certification required 
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and manage multiple requests
  • Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, as well as experience with financial planning software and CRM systems
  • Warm and friendly personality, comfortable with client interactions
  • Eager to roll up your sleeves in a small company environment with a hands‐on culture
  • High energy and commitment to professional growth and growing our firm
