In this role, you will:
  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders, including internal as well as external customers
  • Review and analyze property level financial statements for various property types according to Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREF-C) standards
  • Interact with borrowers/developers/general partners, investors and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional area
  • Review and research basic operational assignments that require evaluation and selection of alternatives
  • Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Portfolio surveillance responsibilities relate to the delivery of accurate and timely loan and property level information to the various deal stakeholders such as rating agencies, trustees, special servicers, and bondholders. Portfolio surveillance duties include:
  • Identification of issues and preparation, presentation, and delivery of watchlist commentary and other action plans
  • Reviewing, understanding and interpreting a wide array of loan/securitization level documents
  • Must understand all aspects of the real estate transaction including the loan/investment structure, borrower/partnership/LLC structure, property management and market dynamics

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
  • BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing commercial real estate loan documents and deal documents
  • Experience in CMBS and/or the servicing of commercial mortgages
