Blue Heron Financial Group, established in 1997, located in Annapolis, MD is looking for a Paraplanner.  We are a busy, and continuously growing financial planning firm.  Due to the success of an almost three decades business, we are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic person to add to our dynamic team.  Starting Salary will be based on experience. Benefits include; 401k match, profit sharing, health Insurance, and paid time off.

Job requires:

•          Full Time – on site, in office, with occasional remote work.

•          Experience - 3 years minimum working experience in financial planning firm or CFP educational track.

•          CFP® Certification, CFP® candidate preferred, as well as SIE and Series 7, 66

Description:

•          Our Financial Paraplanner will work within a team-based environment to support an inspiring financial planning experience for our clients and planners. Responsibilities will include; data gathering, financial analysis, meeting preparation support, follow-up and monitoring. This candidate shall be willing to provide superior service to the client, and to support the team in any way necessary including ongoing client service for existing and new client relationships. The ideal candidate will be passionate about financial planning and eager to advance their planning knowledge.

•          The candidate must be able to work effectively with other team members, clients, advisors, and vendors.  Key areas include delivering sound financial advice, preparing the advisor for client and prospect meetings, organizing and handling post-meeting activities, overseeing successful implementation of investment management and insurance programs, and documenting repeatable processes to maximize efficiency.

•          Suitable candidates must have excellent communication, technology, computer and organizational skills, as well as the confidence and experience to prioritize and make sound decisions.  The responsibilities include ensuring that our clients receive top notch service from someone who cares, in a timely and accurate fashion.

Candidate Experience:

•          3 years in a financial advisory/paraplanning role is preferred and/or education specific to Financial Planning

•          Experience with mutual funds, stocks, bonds, annuities, third-party asset management programs, model portfolios, and separately-managed accounts

•          Familiarity with IRAs, Roth IRAs, qualified plans and other employer retirement plans

•          Working knowledge of life, disability, long-term care and related insurance products

•          Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to financial services and/or economics

•          Certified Financial Planner, Para-Planner or other similar designation a plus

•          Series 7 & 66 General Securities, Life and Variable Annuity licenses a plus

•          Advanced knowledge of investment and insurance rules and regulations

•          Financial Literacy -  General familiarity with personal finance concepts.

•          Analytical Skills - Ability to interpret and analyze financial documents such as a paycheck, an investment account statement, or an insurance policy.

•          Software Experience - Familiarity with financial planning software is preferred. We use Emoney, as an example.

•          Record-keeping:  An appreciation for the importance of tracking and documenting.

•          Systems:  The ideal candidate will have experience in designing or refining systems to help improve efficiency.
