Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

Retirement Distribution Operations strives to set the standard in the industry for operational excellence.  Our team consists of subject matter experts on Schwab’s retirement products, and we are focused on delivering world class experiences for clients by delivering service “Through the Client’s Eyes”.  Retirement Distribution Operations primarily processes non-digitally initiated retirement distributions, supports tax-related corrections, and provides expertise and assistance for Advisor Services through inbound phone calls.  We believe your future should be up to you and we are prepared to provide guidance during your career to maximize and support your professional growth.

What you have

A focus on service is a foundational part of our brand.  We seek individuals to elevate our standard of service through improving how we conduct business to create greater value to our clients and Registered Investment advisors (RIAs).  This approach is critical in an operations role as we support retail clients and RIAs via digital and phone channels.

  • Educating – Engage our business partners and clients to educate them on the best practices and solutions that fit their needs.
  • Curiosity – Continuously seek to understand our business and you can provide the best service to our clients and business partners, become a valuable team member, develop on a professional level, and support the community in which we operate.
  • Resiliency – Being an industry leader means being able to adapt to changes and being flexible in your role.  Maintaining our status as a disruptor is dependent on our ability to respond to changes in our business.
  • Professional Growth – You own your career at Schwab.  Growth is dependent on delivering efficient results with high quality, positively impacting our clients, business partners and teammates and demonstrating a growth mindset.
  • Collaborating – Building and maintaining relationships are a key to success at Schwab.  We are a team-based firm that values inclusion.
  • Critical Thinking – Consistently analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating client and advisor verbal and written requests and determining the correct course of action is a constant in our business.

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous retirement experience, preferred.
  • Passion for service with strong interpersonal skills and the desire to help people.
  • Desire to complement and contribute to a strong culture.
  • Ability and desire to become a subject matter expert on our retirement product offering for the firm including learning about IRS rules and regulations and how they can impact our clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze client and advisor requests and resolve according to set procedures.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid (processing and hotlines) environment.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
  • Well-developed organizational, time management, prioritization, and analytical skills
  • Experience working in fast paced service centric environment.
  • Desire to pursue industry licensing such as the Series 7/63

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
