Associate Wealth Advisor Job Description


The Associate Wealth Advisor is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a planning-centric team of advisors to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships. This individual will partner with a Wealth Advisor to care for client relationships by actively participating in the financial planning process to address retirement, risk management, estate, and tax considerations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for managing the database of client information and requests, a resource to articulate our investment philosophy, and organizer of best practices.

We offer a fee-only, fiduciary environment focused on providing accurate and timely analysis to help our clients make important life decisions and invest wisely over the long term.

This client-facing role offers substantial opportunity for continued growth, and engagement with our client base of high-net-worth families and individuals.

We are based on Knoxville, TN and are currently only hiring for in office employees but do offer part time work from home flexibility.
 

 

Essential  Job Duties and Responsibilities

Develop a mastery of ISW’s evidence-based investment philosophy. Work with the firm’s Wealth Advisory team to accurately compile and enter data from primary sources and prepare preliminary financial planning reports based on client goals and financial circumstances. Create integrated financial plans with a concentration on retirement/financial independence planning, investments, risk management and basic estate planning. Diligent recording of client communication and information within client relationship management platform. Serves as the day-to-day contact for client needs and collaborates with team members to ensure the highest level of service. Foster client respect and trust.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, related discipline preferred. Knowledge of financial industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts. Newly-minted CFP® or in the process of obtaining CFP® designation; this role reports directly for CFP® professionals and will qualify for expedited Apprenticeship CFP® experience qualification. One to four years of experience in the investment industry. Experience working in a small financial planning/wealth management firm is preferred. Passed, or be able to pass, the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (Series 65) if no CFP® designation within 100 days of employment.

Highly organized and able to ramp up quickly. A clear communicator with excellent listening skills and the ability to write in an engaging, concise manner. Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Proficient in the use of financial planning software, MoneyGuidePro and Holistiplan are a plus. Strongly self-motivated and have the ability to work independently. Collaborative in work style, and excited about working in a small team environment. Committed to excellent client service.
