Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors (RSWA) is an independently owned fiduciary fee-only comprehensive wealth management firm that supports 200+ client households from offices in Portland, ME and Portsmouth, NH.

Job Concept:

This position is located in the Portland, ME office.  The Associate Advisor (AA) will work with a team consisting of a Senior Financial Advisor (SFA), Lead Financial Advisor (LFA), and a Service Specialist to deliver an outstanding experience to each client.  This is an entry-level position with a career track for those who want to advance by pursuing the skills and experience necessary for advancement.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Involvement in client meetings in a supporting role with SFA and LFA
  • Assist with the development of financial plans/investment strategy by gathering data, completing analysis, and preparing financial planning models
  • Coordinate and maintain data collection for existing and new clients
  • Manage client account administration and service with Service Specialist
  • Manage and maintain scheduling for client meetings
  • Engage and participate effectively in firm team activities, including marketing events
  • As a small firm with many functions, other tasks may be assigned as needed
  • Will have exposure to many areas such as investments, financial planning, compliance, and marketing with the potential for development in areas of interest

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A four-year degree with work experience
  • Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) or enrollment in CFP courses or equivalent designation is a strong plus, but not required
  • 0-3 years of experience in financial services preferred
  • Desire to work in and contribute within a team environment
  • Solid communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Proficient with technology such as MS Office 365, Excel, etc.
  • Business development is not a requirement for this role but may be required to advance to more senior positions

We offer competitive compensation that is commensurate with experience.  Competitive benefits with company-paid health insurance, HSA, 401k with company match, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, PTO and holidays, parking, paid continuing education, and professional development opportunities.  Partial remote work is offered for the right candidate who can work independently but must be present in the Portland, Maine office for client and firm meetings which occur three to four days per week.  The attainment of the CFP will be supported by the firm.
