Financial Plan Designer
Wellspring Associates is a financial consulting firm that works with ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families in areas of wealth transfer, business succession, philanthropic planning, and life insurance planning. Wellspring serves clients nationwide from offices in Atlanta, GA and Arlington, TX.
The Financial Plan Designer supports Wellspring advisor teams by analyzing the current planning of UHNW clients/prospects, strategizing and modeling advanced financial planning strategies, and creating customized presentations for advisors to use with clients/prospects.
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Position Type: Full-time, regular exempt employee
Compensation: Competitive salary/bonus and benefits, commensurate with experience.
Required Skill Sets
Strategizing / Financial Design Ability
- Able to see the big picture of a client’s situation, including their goals and unique philosophy for their family wealth, their desired legacy, and capacity to handle complexity.
- Able to brainstorm, strategize, and select suitable planning strategies which will help a client family meet their overall goals.
- Able to organize and translate analysis and modeling of complex planning strategies into an accurate, clear, concise, and compelling presentation that can lead clients to action.
Analytical / Technical Ability
- Able to understand complex financial planning concepts and techniques in planning areas such as estate tax, business succession, life insurance, retirement, and income tax.
- Able to comprehensively analyze a client’s legal documents, financial statements, and other planning documents and understand what they do in light of changing laws.
- Able to research advanced planning questions and issues.
- Able to understand the workings of complex life insurance products and how to illustrate them.
- Strong knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
Interpersonal Skill Set
- Excellent verbal and written communicator.
- Proactive nature rather than reactive. Demonstrate initiative. Follow up with the advisor team and/or outside contacts as necessary to drive the financial plan design forward.
- Quick study – able to quickly learn and retain new concepts and skills.
- Able to produce work which is thorough and accurate. Able to manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Financial planning degree and/or experience desirable. Certifications such as CFP®, CLU, ChFC desirable. Life insurance illustration design experience desirable.
