Atwater Wealth Management (AWM) - a fast-growing, woman-owned, boutique wealth management firm located in Boston, MA - is expanding its team. AWM is a fee-only, SEC-registered investment advisor whose hallmark is to actively engage with clients to build robust wealth management strategies that are comprehensive, dynamic, and long-term.
The Opportunity
The Financial Planner will be a key member of the AWM team who will be involved in various aspects of the wealth management process. The AWM team is small and tight knit, and this candidate will be the fourth employee at the company. Given our small size, this role includes ample opportunities to take on diversified responsibilities, to learn from everyone on our team, and to report directly to the founder. We seek an individual with a client service mindset who is willing to take initiative and dig in wherever needed, while developing robust relationships with our clientele.
This role is ideal for a professional who is confident working both independently and as a collaborative and creative team player, enjoys building relationships, and takes pride in offering meaningful advice to clients. Our client base is diverse in many respects; we work with professionals, business owners, executives, and retirees across the U.S. AWM values curiosity and learning. We encourage team members to invest in themselves and their interests. This role includes opportunities for advancement, professional development, and the ability to lead client engagements in the future.
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with team members in the client onboarding process, the development and design of financial plans, and the ongoing servicing of clients;
- Creating, analyzing, and presenting proposals, financial plans, and investment reviews to clients;
- Assisting with technology-related initiatives as needed;
- Providing input regarding processes and operations, and other duties.
We are excited to incorporate this candidate into our team and see how they leave their footprint on AWM for years to come!
Qualifications and Skills Required
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, ~5 years work experience (ideally in a financial planning and/or investment management setting), and either have, or be working toward, the CFP designation. We seek a colleague who is highly organized, has strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, and is curious about learning. Prior experience with financial planning and investment software including eMoney, Orion, Morningstar or similar programs is strongly desired.
Our Culture and Benefits
AWM is a tight-knit, collegial and collaborative team. We value genuine work / life balance. Work arrangements are hybrid and include both in-office and work-from-home. Competitive compensation package includes 401(k) and other benefits.
