Job Details

Job Summary

As a Paraplanner you have a variety of responsibilities surrounding our Wealth Management Reviews. You primarily provide technical and operational support for our Wealth Advisors. You are expected to be a team player, and you occasionally could correspond directly with our clients. You may participate in client meetings but not in an advice capacity. You will have no business development requirements, and you will have opportunity for advancement. This position will also share responsibility for greeting and directing clients and other visitors; for screening and routing telephone calls and performing a variety of other office duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Become proficient with software we regularly use, such as Microsoft Office (particularly Excel/PowerPoint), Schwab Advisor Center, Tamarac, Advisor Engine, Adobe Acrobat, Modestspark, etc.

Maintain our schedule of Wealth Management Reviews with our existing clients and our prospective client pipeline.

Obtain and update client financial information.

Prepare financial reports such as Stock Incentive Summaries, Statements of Net Worth, Retirement/Education Projections, Life Insurance Needs, and Pension/Social Security Claiming Strategies.

Compile and understand other important reports which comprise our Wealth Management Review books such as Investment Returns/Allocations, Projected Income, YTD Taxable Activity, Recent Transactions, etc.

Understand and maintain records related to Income Tax, Estate, Insurance, and Philanthropic planning.

Assist in interpreting tax documents issued by our custodian(s).

Ensure follow-up letters to client meetings are processed timely.

Salary and Benefits

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with experience (80% base and 20% production). The production component simply means this portion fluctuates quarterly (it is not a bonus, per se) proportionate to our top-line revenues, which are communicated to you. We financially encourage a “client-first” culture, focusing on teamwork vs. individual production.

You will also be eligible for up to an additional $5,000 annually in incentive bonuses based on objective goals for you individually.

We greatly value becoming eligible for and passing the CFP® exam. Assuming you are not already a CFP® professional, your compensation will increase at an annual rate of $10,000 retroactive to the date you passed the exam. We also reimburse costs associated with preparing for and taking the CFP® exam up to $6,000. Passing the exam is the first step towards an advancement opportunity to become a client-facing Wealth Advisor.

Retirement Plan

We currently match 150% of the first 6% of your 401(k) contributions, and often make annual, discretionary contributions to our Profit Sharing Plan. There is a 5-year vesting schedule on any employer contributions.

Insurance Benefits

We currently offer group health, dental, vision, life, short and long-term disability insurance benefits.

Paid Personal Days

15 paid days annually (includes sick days).

Holidays

All days the securities markets are closed are considered paid holidays.
