General Function

Under the supervision of the Director of Examinations, the Manager of Examinations leads the day-to-day program functions of the CFP® Certification Examination, as well as auxiliary exam products and initiatives. 

Essential Functions

  • Supports the achievement of CFP® examination program goals through day-to-day coordination of exam development, exam delivery, and results reporting functions 
  • Recruits and builds effective relationships with subject matter expert (SME) volunteers for exam development activities 
  • Research industry trends and best practices to make recommendations on exam program actions 
  • Works closely with the Director of Examinations to develop and monitor project management, schedules, and action plans for Exam program activities 
  • Schedules and actively participates in Exam meetings, including Problem Identification Notice (PIN) telephone meetings following exam administrations.  Maintains records of meetings 
  • Manages information dashboards for Exam functions, as directed, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided  
  • Creates, reviews, revises, and/or implements ongoing communications to candidates  
  • Collaborates with the meetings staff to support the logistics of Exam meetings 
  • Develops content for webinars and the website, as well as relevant materials for Exam meetings 
  • Conducts quality control checks of examination data files, interfacing as necessary with IT staff 
  • Provides 2nd tier support to Stakeholder Services by responding to exam related inquiries  
  • Compiles relevant examination feedback reports for the Director of Examinations. 
  • Collaborates with other departments, as directed, on exam-related activities and projects 
  • Manages other Exams projects as assigned 

Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or other related discipline required. 
  • Master’s degree in I/O Psychology, Educational Measurement, Statistics, or related discipline preferred. 
  • ICE-CCP certification or related certification preferred 
  • Knowledge of NCCA accreditation standards and other assessment industry standards  
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience managing a certification program/project  
  • Strong data analysis skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and focus on accuracy 
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Experience with association management systems (AMS) or similar databases 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
