Kayne Anderson Rudnick Investment Management, a Registered Investment Advisor is currently seeking a financial planner to be based in our Los Angeles office.
The successful candidate will work primarily with the firm’s Senior Financial Planner and secondarily with the firm's Wealth Advisors to help design personalized financial plans, estate reviews, and tax analyses. The candidate will assist in delivering financial planning recommendations for the firm’s clients and prospective clients utilizing various financial planning software platforms.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior Financial Planner and Wealth Advisors in creating the financial plans (data entry into software), running tax analyses, reviewing, and summarizing client financial documents, collaborating on strategic opportunities for the firm’s clients, and participating in client meetings to deliver financial plans. Further, the candidate would be expected to help the Senior Financial Planner monitor the firm’s client’s progress in meeting their plan goals and manage follow-up meetings. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, time management skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be successful in this people-oriented business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help create personalized financial plans, estate reviews, and tax analyses for the firm’s clients and prospective clients, supporting the Senior Financial Planner, and utilizing the firm’s various financial planning software platforms.
- Assist Wealth Advisors in the delivery of their clients’ financial plans and join meetings to help discuss plan results and recommendations.
- Responsible for making updates to client’s financial plans, running various planning analyses, and helping research new and changing planning topics.
- Assist the Senior Financial Planner in preparation of any internal or external projects for clients, marketing, or to expand firm’s financial planning capabilities.
- Assistance in preparation of client deliverables to be reviewed by the Senior Financial Planner.
- Track client progress and help create analytic reports on planning progress.
- Continued education of current tax law as applicable to individuals, trusts, and small businesses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or graduate-level degree required.
- 2-4+ years of experience in developing financial plans & analysis for HNW and UHNW clients, relevant experience in tax planning, estate planning, investment planning, insurance planning, and retirement planning a plus.
- CFP is required or the ability to obtain designation within 6 months of hire.
- Experience with eMoney financial planning software and Holistiplan is a plus.
- Tax preparation experience is a plus.
- Client-facing experience is a plus.
- Financial planning/wealth management acumen, judgment, and experience required.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written and strong presentation skills.
- Comfortable interacting with high-net-worth individuals, in both physical and virtual formats, in advising them on financial planning concepts.
- Ability to collaborate professionally and constructively within a team-oriented culture.
- A demonstrated ability to manage priorities and meet established goals for delivering financial planning deliverables to Senior Financial Planner and Wealth Advisors.
- Desire to work successfully in a small company environment.
- Unimpeachable ethical standards.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $137,500.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
