In this role, you will enjoy working closely with others who share the goal of doing anything and everything you can to support our team and clients. This is a dynamic position working side-by-side with our Founder and team members and involves a wide range of duties, including process and operational workflow management, investment tasks like trading/rebalancing, meeting prep, meeting attendance for note taking and follow up, and special projects like tax-loss harvesting, reconciliations of cash flow, restricted stock inventory and more. We are a small and close team, with every role covering a wide range of functions, and you understand that being part of a small team means assisting in any way that moves the business forward, so you are always humble and willing to help in other areas.
You have done the work to pass the CFP or plan to within the year, even if lighter on experience. You are a self-starter, taking initiative and having impeccable follow-through. You pay great attention to detail. You want to master your craft, and you are the type of person who is always looking to improve. You are eager to learn from an experienced advisor.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage client service teams' day-to-day responsibilities, priorities, and workload; providing analytical, operational, and administrative support for client acquisition, implementation, and ongoing retention
- Timely execution of intra-day requests with strict timeframes, such as trades, wire requests, and journals; initiating requests, review, and approval ensuring completion within specified timeframes and providing communication to clients throughout the process
- Initial point of contact for client for all operational and tactical service matters
- Work with the team to craft client meeting agendas and prepare deliverables to be presented; analyze client data and develop strategies
- Attend client meetings; ensure all client related action items are communicated and memorialized in the CRM
- Review current client portfolios and compare them to the Investment Policy Statement
- Provide spreadsheet analysis on an ad-hoc basis for more advanced financial topics and other specialty requests such as tax-loss harvesting, stock options and restricted stock inventories, and other wealth transfer strategies; maintain all record-keeping related to these activities, including cost basis and other position data via portfolio management software
- Prepare detailed reconciliations of historical cash flows
- Work with Tax, Investments, and Estate Planning to determine additional levels of detail required for the client's situation
- Manage tax coordination and execution for clients’ personal and trust accounts
- Perform other duties and special project work as assigned
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, financial planning, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience within the wealth management industry, preferably in an RIA
- CFP designation highly preferred, or desire to obtain
- The ability to be a self-starter, critical thinker, problem-solver, and goal-oriented team player
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Enjoys working independently & completes tasks autonomously as assigned
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, delegate, and manage a busy workload
- Adeptness with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Wealthbox CRM, MoneyGuidePro, Holistiplan and/or Tamarac is a plus
