Validus Capital, an Independent Registered Investment Advisory firm based in El Segundo, California is seeking a polished and seasoned CFP professional for a client facing relationship management role.

Validus Capital serves the needs of high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. In this role, the qualified individual will be responsible for managing the day to day advisory and estate planning needs of a subset of UHNW and HNW clients. This role will be responsible for delegating up and down to colleagues and team members to ensure advisory, estate planning, and service needs are met while maintaining an elevated level of service.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Primary or lead relationship manager for a subset of Validus HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Be the conduit between Validus leadership, client service teams, and clients to execute on advisory, estate planning, governance, organization, service, and ad hoc client requests and projects.
  • Service a segment of Validus clients to assist with primarily their estate planning needs, but also be the conduit and interface with Validus colleagues on the client’s investment management and service needs.
  • Analyze, interpret, and stay current with estate planning industry, regulatory, rules and regulations.
  • Lead discussions with clients and interact with the client’s other third party professionals and COIs on planning and reporting, including client cash flow needs, budgeting, and investment management implications.
  • Interact with third party portfolio managers and/or their teams on details of transactions, valuations, and investment financial statements.
  • Draft and present client-facing and internal guidance memos related to client day to day investment transaction process and planning.
  • Assist with firmwide operational functions and regulatory compliance projects as needed.
  • Assist and mentor subordinates and junior employees in their development in serving clients and progression within the firm.
  • Work in El Segundo Office five days a week.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates should have 2-5 years recent experience as a CFP. Experience with sophisticated trusts and estates, and planning software such as eMoney.
  • Candidates may also possess some combination of prior experience working with sophisticated multi-generational clients with concentrations in real estate, private equity, complex investments, or novel transactions.
  • An undergraduate degree in business, finance or accounting and a current CFP license is preferred. MBA, master’s in estate planning or investment licenses are also preferable credentials.
  • Strong business common-sense problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Multi-task with ability to pivot and re-prioritize projects and tasks quickly.
  • Strong sense of accountability, obligation, and dedication to client needs.
