Summer 2025 Internships will be posted on our Careers Page through October 25th. On October 25, the positions will close, and all applications will be reviewed. The top candidates will begin hearing from us starting around November 11th. Please be on the look-out for e-mail communications from us regarding your candidacy. Top applicants will be asked to complete a writing sample questionnaire and then may progress to interviews.
About Our Summer Internship Opportunity
The Savant Intern position is a temporary position that exists to provide a student with a general department overview and supervised practical training. General duties will be assigned that will allow the student to develop entry level skills required in a professional workplace. The duties and responsibilities of the position will vary and will be dependent upon the department where the intern is assigned to work. Savant offers a variety of internship opportunities in the following areas: wealth advisory, financial planning, retirement plan services, tax preparation, marketing, investment research, trading and operations, and compliance.
During this internship, you may gain exposure in the following areas, subject to availability and scheduling constraints:
- Review brochures - make sure we have a stock of most recent Marketing brochures and destroy outdated material
- Set up tracking for all clients’ completed Financial Planning tasks with dates when completed
- Identify those clients that need planning meetings scheduled.
- Assist in strategic plan to bring all clients current on planning
- Email and follow up on Ideal Futures assessments if outdated
- Assist with event preparation, set up and tear down of summer events
- Introduction to Portfolio Reviews and Rebalancing Process.
- Revenue Client Report Audit
- Financial Planning Health Care Inflation and Tax Sunset Audit
- Tax planning software introduction
- Portfolio Reviews, Capital gains/Div Reinvest Audit, Cost basis/Step up projects, SS analysis, College calculators
- Portfolio Trading Notes Audit
- Contribution Tracking Spreadsheet - Retirement contribution, Roth conversion, DAF, QCD, tracking spreadsheet
- Assist with miscellaneous projects as requested
- Perform other duties as requested

A couple things to note about our Internship:

This position is based at our Vienna, VA Office.

Due to the nature of the work, this role will require you to work in person, so you will need to have reliable transportation.

This is a seasonal role, beginning in June ending in August.

Full-time hours are expected, working Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
The Intern position typically requires the following qualifications:
- To be considered for our internship programs you must have your high school diploma and be currently enrolled in college program, preferably pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, accounting, business or economics related field. Students that are currently enrolled in a CFP track program and that are in their Junior year will be prioritized upon application review.
- All applicants must be within driving distance to our Vienna, VA office, as this position requires in-person support. We are not open to relocation for this opportunity.
- All applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- You will exemplify a strong work ethic
- You bring a team player attitude
- You possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbally
- You hold yourself with a professional demeanor and be comfortable working with both internal and external clients
- You will be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Bonus is you have experience working in MoneyGuidePro financial planning software
- You will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
