Overview
- This is a W-2, full-time position with work hours of 8 AM – 5 PM (CST).
- TNLPG is a remote-first company that fosters a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous learning.
- We are based out of Chicago, IL, and typically have three in-person team meetings per year.

About the Role

- Conduct research on investment products and strategies, including mutual funds, ETFs, interval funds, alternative investments, and annuity products
- Present research findings to the Investment Committee and contribute to discussion and decision-making
- Monitor, update, and maintain asset allocation models
- Monitor, update, and maintain steering lists of funds, alternatives, and annuity products
- Monitor and manage discretionary portfolios using the Envestnet platform, including trade execution
- Contribute to Planning Department projects, priorities, and strategic initiatives
- Prepare investment and financial planning materials in preparation for client meetings
Career Progression
We currently envision the Investment Analyst role as the first step in a career path toward taking leadership responsibility for all aspects of the investment management process as outlined below. It could also be an entry point for someone who desires to be a client-facing advisor.
Stage 1: Support Investment Committee and maintain internal tools and references
- $60,000 to $80,000 base salary, 2-5 years of experience, CFA/CFP candidate
Stage 2: Lead the Investment Committee and take responsibility for client communications
- $80,000 to $120,000 base salary, 5-10 years of experience, CFA/CFP designation
Stage 3: Take primary responsibility for all aspects of the investment management process
- $120,000+ base salary, 10+ years of experience, CFA/CFP designation
About You
Investment Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum of 2+ years of investment-related work experience or technical financial planning work experience with a strong investment component.
- Series SIE, 7 and 63/66, Life and Health licenses are required or must be obtained within 1 year from the employment start date.
- CFA and/or CFP® Certification or candidacy is preferred.

- Possess excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, reliable execution, and excellent quality of work.
- Can communicate clearly, respectfully, and with correct grammar in both written and verbal form.
- Are proficient in using various technology platforms including Microsoft Suite, Zoom, RedTail, eMoney, Holistiplan, and more.
