We are hiring a Senior Financial Planner to fill an integral position within our wealth management team. After an immersion and transition period, you will be responsible for a specific set of clients, you will support the discovery and onboarding process with prospective and new clients, you will develop and mentor the client-facing team, and you will consistently provide leadership across the firm.
You will bring enough experience in front of clients that you are comfortable and confident in any situation. A thorough understanding of the core financial planning areas and concepts, with a drive to continue knowledge building, is a must. You are an extraordinary communicator and calm under pressure. You have a high degree of empathy, and people trust you easily because you are genuine. You complement your people skills with an ability to understand complexities that others cannot, and to be creative in your solutions. You want to be a master of your craft, and you are the type of person that is always looking to better yourself. You thoroughly enjoy mentoring and guiding employees. You will be encouraged to bring your knowledge, experience, and ideas to the table. We are looking for someone to be a contributor at the executive level, for firm-wide initiatives and for client experience.
Responsibilities:
- Leads, manages, and engages directly with a group of clients to best support their financial, investment, and risk outcomes; engages directly and is responsible for client retention and relationship Manage clients’ investment portfolios ensuring alignment with client objectives
- Develop, recommend, and oversee execution of strategies for clients
- Engage with clients with a thorough understanding of their individual objectives and our financial planning philosophy
- Manage the strategic development of financial plans; continuously monitor clients’ financial situations with detail and accuracy, with the ability to look at the greater strategic financial picture
- Collaborate with clients’ other professionals i.e., attorney’s and CPA’s and any other external sources
- Develops COI relationships to build business opportunities for referral relationships
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and regulatory practices at the highest standards
- Develop and mentor a client-facing team through their career lifecycle and professional development
- Accountability partner to team of advisors to ensure personal growth targets are met on an annual basis
- Provide management with insights on industry trends, best practices and service offering needs to support the firm’s growth
- Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality at all times
- Partner with our Operations team to ensure client requests are being handled
- Contribute to building the firm's infrastructure, advisory services, client experience, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics
- Advanced degree or additional certifications required; at least one, if not more (CFP, CFA, MBA, CPA, JD)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive client-facing experience in investment management, wealth management or financial planning
- Minimum of 5 years supervising, managing, leading and/or mentoring a team
- Ability to manage complex client projects, with a thoughtful and diligent process
- Be enthusiastic about financial planning; strive to always be better and learn more
- Excellent knowledge of regulations, financial planning and investment management
- Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with eMoney, Orion, Holistaplan or similar softwares
- Experience working with Fidelity, Schwab or similar custodian
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify, meet and follow through with client needs and requirements
- Strong ability to interact effectively with the team
- Excellent time management and strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate potential problems
- Be able to meet deadlines and deal with the stress of ambitious entrepreneurial clients
