Application Requirement - Resume and Cover letter
Please include a cover letter as part of your application packet. There are three reasons why we require a cover letter as part of the application process: a. This is a writing job. While writing eloquent prose is not necessarily a part of the job, stringing 8-12 sentences into 2-3 coherent paragraphs absolutely is part of the job. b. Following instructions from our clients is critical to our success. If you can’t follow these instructions, we will probably not be a fit. c. The cover letter will give you the opportunity to express ideas not easily conveyed on your resume. Please address all of the following topics. Applications submitted without a cover letter addressing all of these topics will not be considered:
- Describe your current work situation and why you are applying for this role.
- What interested you in this role?
- What specific skills do you possess that will help you succeed?
- Describe your experience directly writing financial plans. What software did you use? Describe your exact role in the process. How many plans have you written in the last 12 months?
- What is your experience working with a financial advisor? Either professionally or as a client. If you have no experience with a financial advisor in any capacity, explain why you think someone would work with a financial advisor?
- Confirm you saw the salary range for this position and that it meets your expectations. Explain the amount of money you expect to earn two years from now.
- Why should we hire you.
