Job Summary:

As a Financial Planning Assistant, you will play a key role in the seamless operations of a fast-paced, client-focused financial planning office. Working as part of an independent Ameriprise Financial franchise, you will support financial advisors and the client service team by managing workflows and assisting in daily business operations. This position requires adherence to high standards of ethics, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations and product solutions for advisor review to be used in client meetings.
•Create charts, graphs, tables, and other visual aids to support client presentations and implementation meetings.
•Develop product solution recommendations with advisors that align with clients’ risk tolerance and time horizons, ensuring the right product deliverables.
•Review and update client data and analysis for meetings.
•Attend and participate in client meetings as needed, offering insights and support.
•Manage and resolve client service issues related to financial planning.
•Collaborate with team members in the financial planning department.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by financial advisors, staying flexible and proactive.
•Use CRM systems to manage client records, track interactions, and initiate and complete tasks efficiently.
•Prepare detailed retirement income projections, net worth, and cash flow statement analyses.
•Provide account research and special project support, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Review and interpret account statements covering multiple product lines.
•Partner with the Lead Financial Planning Assistant to oversee and manage the financial planning process for the office, ensuring all steps are completed on time.
Qualifications:
•2+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the financial services industry.
•Solid understanding of financial services products and planning processes.
•Strong work ethic and dedication to supporting clients and achieving team goals.
•Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
•Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, shifting environment.
•Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with financial planning software such as Naviplan or MoneyGuide Pro.
•Experience working with high-level professionals in demanding environments.
•Positive attitude with a genuine desire for continuous learning and growth.
Education and Certifications:
•2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services.
•Willing and able to pursue securities licenses and registrations in the future, including SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and state insurance licenses.
