Salary Range: $94,700.00 To $115,000.00 Annually

General Functions

Under limited supervision, the Website Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of CFP Board’s websites (CFP.net, LetsMakeAPlan.org, etc.), including overseeing development, defining strategy, directing design and content development, and ensuring the sites are continually improved for performance, SEO, and user engagement. The Manager coordinates with internal and external stakeholders and partner agencies to ensure strategic direction and goals are accomplished. She/he supervises the Web Communications Specialist. 

Essential Functions

Website Maintenance and Management

  • Develops and maintains an ongoing strategy for ensuring online content across all websites is current, consistent, audience-appropriate and accurate across multiple sites, to promote an integrated and high-quality user experience.
  • Oversees administration of the web content management system (Sitecore) and training of CFP Board staff on how to use the CMS
  • Manage website compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Manages the overall work activities of the Web Communications Specialist, including establishing performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating employee development

Content Management

  • Reviews and approves content for CFP Board’s websites, working with department representatives to complete updates in a timely manner consistent with organizational standards
  • Oversees CFP Board’s standards for online content to ensure proper voice, tone and style, visual guidelines and brand name usage
  • Ensure all content follows SEO best practices and brand guidelines.
  • Maintains production and editorial calendars for online content
  • Collaborates with CFP Board staff in the development and implementation of effective, integrated marketing and communications plans that includes websites, social media, email, advertising, events and other forms of communication

 Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Expertise:

  • Monitor website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to assess traffic, engagement, and performance of traffic to provide actionable insights.
  • Set up, configure, and manage GA4 to track website performance, user behavior, and key events.
  • Analyze user data to optimize website content and performance, improving engagement and conversion rates. 
  • Defines success metrics for website content strategy and UX, ensuring that relevant data is collected in analytics and used correctly to improve results.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • Implement and optimize on-page and off-page SEO strategies to drive traffic.
  • Track and report on keyword rankings, organic traffic, and user behavior to identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage the search engine optimization (SEO) and conversion rate optimization (CRO) efforts

Design & User Experience (UX):

  • Monitors usability and effectiveness for CFP Board’s websites, ensures compliance with relevant web accessibility guidelines and identifies areas for improvement and provides recommendations 
  • Collaborate with designers and UX specialists to improve the website’s design, functionality, and navigation.
  • Implement A/B testing for continuous optimization of user experience.
  • Ensure website is mobile-friendly and responsive across all devices.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work with IT, UX/design, content, and marketing teams to align the website with broader business strategies and campaigns as well as coordinate project planning, budgeting and rollouts
  • Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, or freelancers for additional support or services.
  • Monitors trends and best practices for websites, incorporating the latest technologies and tools to enhance CFP Board’s online properties and assets
  • Oversees webinars and related scheduling
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, web design or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with website development and design/UX concepts, and with writing and editing for websites and digital communications
  • Data-driven decision maker who is highly analytical and a critical thinker.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams.
  • Experience managing employees, contractors and agency partners
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts
  • Proficient with HTML; knowledge of CSS a plus
  • Proficiency with image editing software 
  • Deep knowledge in Google Analytics (GA4) and Sitecore Experience Analytics 
  • Experience with Sitecore and netFORUM website content management systems preferred
  • Experience with webinar platforms, such as ON24 and Zoom Webinar preferred
  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of SEO and increasing organic search traffic
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to alter style according to audience, and to explain technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to apply project management tools and skills, and manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure the on-time launch and flawless execution of projects from concept to completion
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors

This position is based in the Washington D.C. office and works a hybrid schedule which could be changed at any time.

The applicable starting annual base salary is anticipated to be in the range of $94,700.00 to $115,000.00.  In addition to base salary, total compensation includes incentive compensation for which employees are eligible based on completion of individual goals.
