Junior Financial Advisor: Job Description
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal candidate has a desire to learn, grow, and develop technical expertise in the fields of investments, insurance and income tax and a desire to provide advice to clients in a face-to-face setting.
- The ideal candidate has a long term view and a goal of firm ownership. Our training program is designed for individuals ready to follow their passion to become/act as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and Business Owner. While the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree, it need not be in a business specific field.
The Junior Financial Advisor engages in:
- Developing client relationships using inbound inquiries as well as existing customer base to create a book of business that meets and exceeds required performance metrics
- Effectively servicing referrals, assessing client needs and concerns in order to create and implement highly personalized solutions to meet the client needs
- Recommending investment products and services that help clients achieve their individual goals and objectives
- Balancing business development, client service, compliance and professional growth in both day-to-day activities and longer-term planning
- Appropriately leveraging the expertise of vendors and subject matter experts in helping achieve client goals
- Participate in supporting the Severn Team to achieve firm wide goals Learning the “Severn Program,” and “Severn Philosophy,” systems and delivery methodologies to provide client service and generate new business
- Completing required licensing and continuing education requirements
The Junior Financial Advisor receives:
- Access to and coaching on the marketable and repeatable Severn Program and delivery methodologies
- Access to an existing referral-based client population
- An initial base salary with the understanding that this role will become a fully production-based compensated
- Access to software programs and various investment, insurance and tax products to service your clients
- Access to the firm’s staff and founder located in our office to help you succeed
- An opportunity to grow and earn ownership in the firm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business Development: A Junior Financial Advisor must acquire clients through personalized marketing techniques to meet minimum performance hurdles.
- Initial Registration and Licensing Requirement: A Junior Financial Advisor is required to obtain necessary licensing and registrations (Series 7, Series 66 and MD Life/Health Insurance).
- Ongoing Designation Requirements: A Junior Financial Advisor is required to obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and Enrolled Agent’s designation.
- Severn Development: A Junior Financial Advisor must successfully complete ongoing training on the Severn Program, Severn Philosophy, delivery methodologies, software solutions, vendor relationships and internal vocabulary and processes.
- Performance Requirements: A Junior Financial Advisor is expected to meet the production and development requirements and transition to a full Financial Advisor.
