Locker Financial Services is a financial planning firm in Little Falls, NJ and we are seeking an Associate Financial Planner to join our team.  We are a fee-only firm that has provided financial planning and investment management to our clients for 28 years.  The firm is seeking a new Associate Financial Planner to support and help manage existing client relationships.  Find out more about us at our website: www.lockerfinancial.com

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide client relationship support through managing/gathering/analyzing client data, preparing financial plans and other client deliverables, and working with clients to resolve issues
  • Attend, document, and participate in client meetings and follow up on meeting action items
  • Support client relationships by maintaining the CRM and responding to client requests in a professional manner while delivering excellent client service
  • Develop preliminary financial plans in our FP software with the goal of presenting financial plans to our clients – timing will be based on experience and competency
  • Analyze information and evaluate results in order to help choose the best solutions and solve problems
  • Assist with onboarding new clients with account openings, transfers, client support and follow-up, etc.
  • Work with our client service team to prepare for client meetings

Position Requirements:

  • CFP or currently pursuing CFP designation
  • Must have working knowledge of basic financial planning concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing client service
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Desire to work in a team environment and be a team player
  • Familiarity with our current systems is a plus, but not required: Moneytree, Sharefile, Junxure, PortfolioCenter, Schwab, Morningstar
  • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver
  • Desire to learn and grow into a more senior role within the firm

Benefits:

  • The salary range for this position will be $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience and credentials
  • Immediate room for growth into a more senior Financial Planner position, with the possibility of partnership/partial firm ownership

Qualified candidates will start the process by having a 15-30 minute phone interview conducted by our consultant (who is the hiring manager for this position). If there is ground to move forward, you will be required to fill out a Career History Form and if you are selected to advance in the process, you will meet with the firm. Qualified candidates will be asked to take a Caliper assessment. A background and credit check will be required.
